I'm all about exercise. There is nothing more exhilarating than improving your health, or changing the shape of your body for the better. Except maybe a nap. Sure I'm all about others exercising. Just not me.
I'm driving to work the other day and I see a guy riding a bike. No biggy. Pretty normal thing to see, right?
Except for the fact that its February and there is a foot of snow on the ground.
Now, I realize that maybe this guy needs to be somewhere. Maybe he doesn't have a car. Hell, maybe he can't even afford public transportation. But a bike? In the snow.
Again, this is his prerogative. Good for him, getting his year round exercise. But does he have to ride in the middle of the street? IN TRAFFIC? This guy is actually in the flow of traffic. Not only is he s-l-o-w, he is getting mad at the people in cars. you know, the ones who have the right to be on the road?
There's another guy I see biking around my house pretty frequently all year round. What makes him special? His choice of wardrobe while he rides. Fashion is definitely subjective, but you think you really need to be wearing football pads to ride a bike? Perhaps you need to find a safer hobby?
Now me, I'm good with a plain old-fashioned helmet. And maybe some butt pads(those bike seats are hard!). My biking is usually done once a year for charity. Even then, I wimp out a do the short one. The rest of the year I'm good with naps.

Ferhoodled
It is completely dorky that I just started this and can't wait to post again? Oh well, now that your here, you have to read. Your compelled aren't you? You....must...read....
Sorry I get sidetracked easily.
This post is for my good friend Bax, who frequently gets ferhoodled with me. Thanks to Urban Dictionary we can define this as....

This post is for my good friend Bax, who frequently gets ferhoodled with me. Thanks to Urban Dictionary we can define this as....
A common adjective in Pennsylvania used to describe something that is confused or mixed up. Derived from the Pennsylvania German (Dutch) dialect. Pronounced: fehr-WHO-dold.
My desk is all "ferhoodled" (My desk is a mess). He's all "ferhooled" today (He doesn't have his act together today).
Thats right......its Amish. The Amish rock!
Which is how I found myself after a ridiculous few hours at work. Making a sign up sheet for one of our many potluck lunches, the theme this time is Mardi Gras. You know, Fat Tuesday. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this occurs on the same day. Every Year. Without fail.
So why did more that one person ask me what day of the week this lunch would be on?
Ferhoodled, right?
Sadly, a good friend of mine passed away this past week. I was texting a mutual friend to share the news. Please keep in mind, she has been ill for the past year, and we both knew the end was near. (hey, that rhymed)
ME: Sally's gone
FRIEND: No way! For real like gone gone?
Really?
Again, ferhoodled!
This is such a great word. I believe more of us need to adopt the Amish dialect into our everyday life.
And so it begins.....
So I'm walking into work today with a friend, and I'm reviewing the weekend with her. It seems, lately, that I have had the fortunate luck of being slammed with some of the dumbest comments my friends have made in quite a while. What is one to do with this information? Why make fun of them of course. Then and there I decide that yes I, Fancy Nancy, will start a blog. This could very well be a fabulous project, or a total loss. You decide.
Hopefully I will be able to entertain and enthrall all of my followers (if there are any besides Bax) for many moons to come.
Enjoy!
